About
Talk to Browser lets you type on the web using your voice. Click the mic, speak, and the extension inserts the text into inputs, textareas, and most content-editable fields. For editors that block programmatic typing (e.g., canvas-based apps), it copies the transcript so you can paste with ⌘V / Ctrl+V. Why it’s useful: Fast voice typing on any website Works nearly everywhere (search boxes, forms, chats, docs) One-tap language selection (English by default) Private by design: audio is sent only while you record; we don’t store transcripts by default How it works: Click the extension and press Start Recording. Your audio is sent securely to your own backend (Supabase Edge Function) which transcribes using OpenAI STT. The text is inserted in the focused field—or copied for quick paste when needed. Features: Language picker with persistence (EN default; choose PT, ES, FR, etc.) Clipboard fallback toast for tricky editors (Google Docs, some canvas editors) “Microphone settings” shortcut to quickly grant permissions if blocked Permissions explained: Microphone — capture your voice while recording. Active Tab & Scripting — insert the transcription into the page. ClipboardWrite — copy text when a site doesn’t allow programmatic typing. Privacy: Audio is captured only while you’re recording. No transcript storage by default. Uses your configured server (Supabase) and STT provider (OpenAI). See our privacy policy for details.
