Auto Tab Snapshot lets you capture your current browsing session into a snapshot and restore it later—perfect after reboots, crashes, or updates.

What it does

Save all open tabs (in each window) into labeled snapshots.

Restore the latest snapshot or pick one from a dropdown.

Optional Autosave every N minutes (you control the schedule).

Keeps pinned tabs pinned when restoring.

Works across multiple windows.

How to use

Click the extension icon.

(Optional) Toggle Autosave enabled and choose the interval, then Apply.

Click Save now to capture a snapshot anytime.

Use Restore latest or choose a snapshot from the list and click the arrow to restore.

Privacy

No accounts. No cloud. No analytics.

Snapshots are stored locally using chrome.storage.local.

Nothing is sent anywhere—your URLs never leave your browser.

Permissions explained

tabs: read open tabs’ URLs/titles to save/restore them.

storage: save snapshots and your settings locally.

alarms: run the autosave timer.

<all_urls> host permission: required to read the URL of any tab so it can be saved.

Notes & limitations

Chrome blocks internal pages (e.g., chrome://…) and some special pages from being saved/restored.

Incognito windows are supported only if you enable “Allow in incognito” for the extension.

Default keeps up to 30 snapshots (newest first).

Restoring reopens windows and tabs; session logins/cookies depend on your browser state.
