Our smart matching engine compares your bank statement lines against Xero's suggested invoices across four key data points:
    • Amount — Transaction value matches invoice amount
    • Date — Transaction date matches invoice date
    • Name — Payee/payer name matches contact name
    • Reference — Bank reference matches invoice reference number

Each matching data point earns +1 point. You choose the minimum match score (1-5 points) required to auto-approve a transaction. For example:
    • Set to 4 points for strict matching (nearly perfect matches only)
    • Set to 2 points for flexible matching (amount + one other field)
    • Adjust anytime based on your data quality and confidence level
