About

GPT Bridge helps you move web content into your current ChatGPT session with fewer steps — without auto-sending anything.

What you can do
• Send selected text from any page using the right-click menu (context menu).
• Capture a tab screenshot from the same menu and keep it in your queue.
• Add small files to a local queue in the side panel (strict per-item size limit).
• Pick a quick prompt template such as: Summarize, Explain, Action items, Rewrite, Translate, Risk check.
• Insert a combined prompt + content into ChatGPT (chatgpt.com) with one click — then you decide when to send.

Safety-first behavior (no risky automation)
• GPT Bridge never presses “Send” and never submits messages automatically. It only inserts text into the input box.
• No auto-click chains and no fragile macro behavior.
• No remote code, no obfuscation, no tracking.
• Your queue and settings are stored locally in your browser (Chrome local storage and IndexedDB). No backend.

Sharing / Invite (optional)
• Share / Invite creates a ready message that includes your Web Store link (optionally with a ref code).
• Your collected content is not shared unless you explicitly enable an option to include a small snippet.

Notes (MVP)
• File and image attachment in ChatGPT is manual by design (browser security + reliability).
• GPT Bridge focuses on preparing content, offering copy/download, and inserting clear instructions into the chat input.

FAQ
• Does GPT Bridge send messages automatically in ChatGPT?
No. It never clicks Send. It only inserts text. You send manually.

• Where is my data stored?
Locally in your browser (Chrome local storage and IndexedDB). There is no backend.

• Can it upload files or images into ChatGPT automatically?
No. This stays manual for reliability and security.

• What permissions does it use?
Only what’s needed for the features listed below.

• What does Share / Invite do?
It opens share options (or copies a share message). It does not upload your content.

Permissions justification
• storage — saves settings (theme, templates, cleanup preferences).
• contextMenus — adds “Send selected text” and “Capture screenshot” actions.
• activeTab — captures the visible tab screenshot when you click the action.
• tabs — finds/activates an existing chatgpt.com tab (or opens one).
• scripting — inserts text into the chat input on chatgpt.com (no auto-send).
• sidePanel — provides the main UI (queue, templates, files, share).
