About

Daily Log — a keyboard-first mental offloading tool that replaces your new tab.

Open a tab. Type what's on your mind. Tag it with @. Press Enter. It's out of your head.

Daily Log is built for speed of capture. The entire input cycle takes under 3 seconds. No folders, no categories, no friction — just a text bar that's always one keystroke away.

How it works:
Every new tab opens Daily Log. Type your thought, tag it with @work, @ideas, or @groceries, and hit Enter. That's it. Your thought is captured and organized instantly.

Find anything with Cmd+K:
Hit Cmd+K to open the command palette. Type a tag name to filter your logs. Pinned entries float to the top. Multi-tag filtering (AND logic) lets you cross-reference — @work + @urgent shows only what matches both.

Rich text, not plain text:
Full WYSIWYG formatting powered by TipTap. Bold, headings, bullet lists, numbered lists, checklists, blockquotes, code blocks, and links — all rendered live as you type. Slash commands (/h1, /list, /checklist) for quick formatting without leaving the keyboard.

Todos that stay out of the way:
Type /todo or add checkboxes with [ ]. Each checkbox is independently toggleable. Switch to Clean Todo Mode for a focused drag-and-drop task list, split into Unfinished and Done sections.

Focus Mode for longer thoughts:
Hit F or use Cmd+K → "focus" for a distraction-free writing space. All UI disappears. Just you and a centered editor. Cmd+Enter to save.

Save links from any page:
Press Cmd+Shift+L on any webpage to capture the page title and URL as a log entry. Add tags before saving. Your bookmarks, organized by context.

Pin what matters:
Pin important entries so they always appear at the top of any view — home, tag view, or todos.

Set reminders:
Type /remind 3pm or /remind tomorrow 9am. Daily Log uses Chrome notifications to bring things back to your attention at the right time. Supports recurring reminders too.

Dark mode by default:
A calm, warm dark interface inspired by Apple Notes. Light mode available in settings.

Your data stays local:
Everything is stored in your browser. No account required. No server dependency. Optionally sign in with Google to sync across devices.

Export anytime:
Export your data as JSON (full backup) or CSV. Import JSON backups to restore or migrate.

Daily Log is for people who think in fragments — quick notes, tasks, links, ideas — and want them captured instantly without disrupting flow
