About

Enhance your BigQuery workflow - starting with one essential feature: column renaming.

BigQuery+ adds small, intuitive productivity tools directly into the Google BigQuery UI.
The first feature available today is a quick column rename option available right inside the table schema view.

No need to switch to the Query Editor, write DDL manually, or reload the entire page.
Just click the inline pencil icon, enter a new name, and BigQuery Plus handles the rest using the official BigQuery API.

✔️ Current features

Inline column rename
Click the ✏️ icon next to any schema field to instantly rename it — a DDL statement is executed safely via the BigQuery API.

Autorefresh of the schema view
After a rename, the table schema refreshes automatically, without reloading the entire page.

Native feel
Uses minimalistic UI elements that blend naturally into the BigQuery console.

🚀 Upcoming features

BigQuery Plus will continue to grow with additional schema and productivity tools, such as:

bulk rename and pattern-based renaming
preview of DDL before execution
column type changes
description editor
schema compare / diff
copy and export schema
keyboard shortcuts
customizable automation rules

Your feedback will help shape the roadmap; suggestions are welcome.

🔒 Privacy & Security
No data is sent to external servers.

All actions are executed directly against the official Google BigQuery API using Chrome’s built-in OAuth flow.

The extension never accesses query data, table contents, or any information outside the schema metadata required for renaming.

📌 Requirements
A Google Cloud account with permission to alter BigQuery table schemas.
BigQuery API is enabled in your project.
