- How It Works
  - The extension uses efficient WebAssembly codecs (mozjpeg, WebP, AVIF, and quantization for PNG) in a dedicated worker. Images are decoded to an in‑memory bitmap, encoded according to your preset and format, and written back to a downloadable file — all within your browser.

- Privacy & Permissions
  - Data collection: none. Images never leave your device and are not sent to any server.
  - Permissions requested:
    - storage: used to remember your preferences (e.g., last preset/format).
    - site access (google.com): a lightweight content script is included by default and does not read or modify page content; it performs no data collection. You can remove site access in Chrome’s extension settings.
