  What's new in v2.0
  
  This release is a complete overhaul of the highlight engine, with six major improvements:
  
  1. Right-click to delete — Right-click any highlight to get a clean context menu for removing it. Links inside highlights still open the browser's native menu as expected.
  
  2. Compound highlights — Selections that span links, citations, or other inline elements are now highlighted correctly and stored as a single unit. Delete or recolour them all at once.
  
  3. Overlap & remainder handling — Highlighting over part of an existing highlight now preserves the untouched portions. 
  
  4. Cross-node reload fix — Highlights on complex pages (like Wikipedia sentences broken up by footnote links) now reapply correctly on reload instead of being silently dropped.
  
  5. Export / Import — Download all your highlights as a .json file and restore them on another device or after a browser reset.
  
  6. Clear all highlights — A single action in the popup lets you wipe all stored highlights across all pages, with a confirmation step to prevent accidents.
  
  7. New pastel color palette — The default highlight colors have been replaced with a softer pastel set: Butter Yellow, Cotton Candy Pink, Mint, Periwinkle, and Peach. The color picker UI has also been polished — swatches lift on hover, the selected color shows a clean blue ring, and the custom color "+" button now fills with your chosen color when active.

  ❥ Highlight: Select any text on any webpage to highlight it instantly. Choose from five soft pastel presets — Butter Yellow, Cotton Candy Pink, Mint, Periwinkle, and Peach — or pick any custom color. Highlights persist across page reloads without any action on your part.
  
  ❥ Annotate: Right-click any highlight to add a plain-text note. A compact editor opens right where you clicked — type your note and save with a click or Cmd/Ctrl+Enter. A 📝 badge marks any highlight that has a note; hover to preview it instantly. Click the highlight to read the full note in a clean read-only view. Right-click again to edit or delete the note without touching the highlight.
  
  ❥ Manage: Right-click any highlight to remove it. Re-highlight overlapping text to change colors — existing highlights and their notes are preserved automatically. Export all your highlights and notes as a JSON file to back them up or move them to another device. Import them back in one click. Clear all highlights across every page from the popup if you need a clean slate.
  
  ❥ Blur: Enter any phrase in the popup and blur every instance of it on the current page — useful for blocking out spoilers, sensitive information, or distractions while keeping the rest of the page readable. Toggle off just as easily.
  
  ❥ Privacy: Everything stays on your device. No accounts, no external servers, no tracking. HylyTool uses only storage and activeTab permissions — the minimum needed to do its job.
