About

Stealth Tab is your instant escape hatch for Chrome—slip into a study-safe space or snap back to productivity with a single, stealthy keypress. Preload a hidden, muted window with your most trusted sites, summon it in a heartbeat, and quietly glide back to where you were without breaking your focus—or raising eyebrows.

Lightning-fast tab swaps: Assign a single secret key to instantly teleport from your current page to a preloaded destination. Double-tap to reopen the tab you hid, right in its original spot.
Hidden window, zero noise: Stealth Tab keeps your chosen site ready inside a minimized, muted window. Close it by accident? The extension quietly recreates it for you.

Personalized destinations: Stick with one go-to site or rotate through a curated list. Random mode dedupes and shuffles entries so you never land on the same page twice unless you want to.
Instant Lock Mode: One press hides every tab in the current window, swaps in a believable decoy URL, and restores the full lineup—pins, mute states, ordering, active tab—when you trigger it again.

Multi Mode multitasking: Capture endless tabs with a stash key, bring them all back at once with a restore key, and let Stealth Tab remember exact window placement. Chrome system pages are skipped for safety.

Site Lock protection: Block distracting websites behind a PIN. When you visit a locked domain, a fullscreen overlay demands your 4–8 digit code before you can proceed. Unlock lasts only for that tab—close it and the lock snaps back. PINs are SHA-256 hashed and stored locally, never synced or transmitted.

Smart key capture: Dedicated listeners run on every site and frame while respecting text inputs, password fields, and IME composition, so hotkeys only fire when you actually mean it.
Popup control center: The minimalist toolbar popup lets you tweak your secret key and URLs, or reroute you to the full settings if you still need to accept the privacy policy.

Full-featured options hub: Configure modes, lock keys, decoy URLs, Site Lock domains, PIN management, and more from an accessible, keyboard-friendly settings page. All assets are local, so it loads instantly even offline.

Privacy-first design: No accounts, analytics, or remote calls. Settings live in chrome.storage.sync; Site Lock data stays in chrome.storage.local (device-only); session state lives in chrome.storage.session; optional history wipe scrubs the tab you just hid from your local history. A built-in policy modal ensures you read and re-accept any updates.

Resilient service worker: Background logic survives Chrome restarts, prevents duplicate hidden windows, and queues actions so rapid key presses never collide.

Upgrade your tab game. Whether you're juggling lecture notes, client dashboards, blocking tempting distractions, or just need a quick decoy, Stealth Tab keeps your most important pages one stealthy tap away.
