UniEnDe is a simple, powerful Chrome extension that helps you work with Unicode text.
Features:
• Encode plain text into Unicode escape sequences (\uXXXX), including surrogate pairs.
• Decode Unicode escape sequences back into readable characters.
• Optional modern escapes: \u{X…} for all code points.
• Interactive character table showing codepoints, escapes, alt names, blocks, and categories.
• Copy output or individual escapes directly to your clipboard.
• Preferences saved locally (uppercase hex, escape style).
• Accessible design with keyboard‑friendly controls, ARIA live regions, and clear contrast.
Privacy:
UniEnDe does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data. All operations run locally in your browser. No information is sent to external servers.
Permissions:
• Storage – to save your preferences.
• Scripting – to run encoding/decoding logic in the popup.
• Tabs – reserved for optional, user‑initiated page operations.
• Host access (<all_urls>) – reserved for future enhancements; not used automatically.
Single Purpose:
UniEnDe focuses solely on Unicode encoding and decoding. It does not perform unrelated tasks.
