About
Aria2 Interceptor replaces Chrome’s built-in download manager with a direct handoff to your configured Aria2 instance. If Chrome can download it, this extension intercepts it and sends it to Aria2 instead — no exclude lists, no heuristics, no guesswork. Features • Intercepts downloads before Chrome processes them • Rename dialog: choose a filename before sending to Aria2 • Dashboard for active and queued downloads • No telemetry, no analytics, no tracking How it works When you start a download in Chrome, Aria2 Interceptor captures the request and forwards it to your configured Aria2 JSON-RPC endpoint. You can optionally rename the file before it’s sent. The dashboard page lets you see what has been dispatched to Aria2. The goal is to behave like a drop-in replacement for Chrome’s own downloader: if Chrome can download it, this extension should be able to hand it off to Aria2. Permissions • downloads: used to intercept download requests and read metadata before Chrome handles them • storage: used to save your Aria2 server configuration locally in the browser • http://*/* and https://*/*: used only to read the original download URL so it can be forwarded to your Aria2 server • cookies: used only to read session cookies required for authenticated downloads, so the extension can forward the request correctly to your Aria2 server. Cookies are not stored, transmitted, or used for tracking. No personal data is collected, stored, or transmitted by this extension. The only external communication is to the Aria2 server(s) you configure yourself. See the privacy policy for details.
