ProxySwitch is a modern, professional proxy management tool designed for Chrome. If you are tired of manually changing system network settings or frustrated with the outdated interfaces of legacy proxy extensions, ProxySwitch is your ultimate replacement. It allows for seamless, millisecond-level switching between different proxy protocols, servers, and routing modes.

[ Why should you install it? ]
Whether for development, research, or daily browsing, managing network traffic can be a hassle. You often need direct connections for local intranet sites but proxy tunnels for international resources. Turning on a system-wide VPN often slows down local access.

ProxySwitch solves this perfectly:
★ Smart Split Tunneling
In "Auto Mode (PAC)", the extension intelligently determines whether a website should go through a proxy or connect directly based on rules (like GFWList).
★ Keep Your Rules Clean
The unique "Temporary Rule" feature allows you to proxy a site only for the current browser session. Once you restart Chrome, the rule disappears. This keeps your permanent rule list clean from one-time test sites.
★ You Own Your Data
Unlike extensions that sync data through proprietary servers, ProxySwitch lets you BACKUP your configurations to your private GitHub Gist or WebDAV service. Your data stays in your control.
★ Zero Interference
When you want to use a desktop VPN client, you don't need to disable the extension. Just switch to "System Mode", and ProxySwitch immediately reverts control to the OS, becoming completely invisible to your network stack.

1. Four Modes for Every Scenario
▶ Auto Mode (PAC): Traffic is routed based on smart rules (GFWList + User Rules). The best "set it and forget it" mode.
▶ Global Mode: Forces all traffic through your configured proxy server. Ideal for hiding your IP.
▶ System Mode: A core feature. The extension stops managing settings and reverts to the Operating System's (Windows/Mac/Linux) proxy configuration.
▶ Direct Mode: All traffic bypasses the proxy and connects directly to the target.

2. Powerful Rule Management
• Protocol Support: Fully supports SOCKS5, SOCKS4, HTTP, and HTTPS protocols.
• Visual Management: Double-click to edit domains, search, import, and export rules via JSON.
• User Rules (Blacklist): Domains forced to use the proxy.
• Whitelist: Domains forced to connect directly (Highest priority).

3. Cloud Backup & Restore
• Platforms: Supports GitHub Gist (Recommended) and WebDAV protocol.
• Mechanism: To prevent configuration conflicts across devices, we use a "Backup & Restore" model rather than real-time sync.
• Auto-Backup: When local settings change, they can be automatically uploaded (Base64 encoded) to your cloud storage.
• One-Click Restore: On a new device, simply click "Download" to overwrite local settings and restore your servers/rules instantly.

4. Developer-Friendly UX
• Latency Test: Built-in connectivity test to check your proxy server status.
• Status Indicators: The extension icon changes color based on the current tab's routing status (Purple=User Rule, Green=Auto PAC, Blue=Direct).
