Changelog
- Apr 19, 2026description
You've been scrolling for 2 hours. You meant to spend 5 minutes. Features -Blocks scroll/Puts back pagination (stops flow) -Greyscale mode (less interesting interface) -Mute notifications (minimises distractions) -Keyboard shortcuts ('z' + 'x' for right handed mouse use) -Block media/autoplay (keeps the brain worms at bay) Bonus features -Increased agency -Less time wasted, more time for what matters -More productive/efficient work -Less mental drain -Lower electricity consumption -Less money for big tech Scrolling is addictive. It's a form of Dark Pattern exploitation - infinite scroll is worse, but not many people know that scrolling itself is the root of the problem. It works by mimicking the visual flow that usually stimulates and motivates us to move around our environment. Engagement increases from between 15-50% when UI switches from pagination to scrolling (so up to 30% time stolen...). This function disproportionately impacts neurodivergent people and children. The browser extension is step 1, I'd like to unscroll all tech... starting with putting the page back in webpage.
