About

OpenMode gives you precise control over how links open — on a per-site basis.

Most websites decide for you whether links open in the same tab or a new one. That creates interruptions and extra clicks. With OpenMode, you choose the behavior for each site:

BG: opens links in a background tab (stay on current page)
FG: opens links in a foreground tab (switch to new tab)
OFF: normal browser behavior
Benefits:

Stay focused while researching or reading documentation
Reduce tab clutter on sites that open too many tabs
Get consistent navigation in dashboards, admin panels, and work tools
Save repetitive micro-decisions (like constant Cmd/Ctrl+click)
Toggle the extension globally on/off without losing site rules
Default behavior remains normal browsing. You only enable rules for the sites you choose.
