Our mission is not to tell you what to think, but to give you the tools to think more critically. `contxt` provides a spectrum of data-driven context for any news article you read, empowering you to see beyond the headline.

**What It Does:**

When you're on a web page, `contxt` works silently in the background. With a single click, it opens a side panel revealing up to three distinct layers of analysis:

*   **Publisher Analysis:** For websites in our database of known news publishers, `contxt` instantly displays key metrics about the source itself. This includes political bias ratings from both AllSides and Media Bias/Fact Check (MBFC), visualized on intuitive radial meters, as well as MBFC's Factual Reporting score, shown on a clear, segmented bar.

*   **Sentiment Analysis:** The extension analyzes the language of the page's headline and body text separately. Using diverging bar charts, it reveals the underlying tone—positive, negative, or neutral—helping you identify emotionally charged or persuasive language.

*   **Readability Analysis:** `contxt` measures the linguistic complexity of the text and presents it as a Flesch-Kincaid grade level. This "Complexity Ladder" helps you understand the intended audience and stylistic choices of the article, from elementary to college-level writing.
