PauseJar is an impulse buy blocker that adds a 24-hour cool-off at the exact moment you click Buy, Checkout, or Add to Cart on a shopping site you've chosen to watch. As a buy button blocker, it intercepts that click and, instead of rushing you to the cart, slides in a quiet overlay: the item, the price (auto-filled when PauseJar can read it, always editable), a "Sleep on it" button, and a "Buy anyway" that is always one click away. No guilt, no pressure. If you still want it tomorrow, it's yours.

The cool-off moment is the whole point. Impulse buys often happen in the moment, before you've had a chance to think it over. PauseJar puts a deliberate pause in that gap so you can decide with a clear head instead of on impulse. The default wait is 24 hours, and you can adjust the length in settings.

When you choose to wait, the money you didn't spend drips into a glass jar that fills bottom-to-top with warm amber, next to a big running total of everything you've kept. You watch the total climb, turning mindful spending into something you can see grow.

You control the watch list. PauseJar works out of the box on eight major retailers (Amazon, Etsy, Target, Walmart, eBay, Best Buy, Shein, and Temu). Toggle any of them on or off, or add a custom site. When you add one, your browser asks for access to that single site, at that moment, and nothing more.

The privacy is what sets PauseJar apart. Unlike many "savings" and coupon tools that are built to make you buy more and route your browsing through their servers, PauseJar is designed to help you buy less and keeps everything on your device. It collects nothing: no accounts, no analytics, no crash reporting, no advertising identifiers, no third-party SDKs. It makes zero outbound network requests, which you can confirm yourself in the DevTools Network tab. Fonts, images, and code are all bundled in the package.
