About

Intercept API is a developer tool for local debugging. It captures the API requests your browser makes to localhost / 127.0.0.1 and sends them to the Intercept API dashboard so you can see exactly what was called, inspect headers/body, replay requests, and test mock responses.
What it does:
- Shows your local API calls in real time
- Lets you replay a request with one click
- Lets you create mock rules to return custom responses
- Includes an optional tunnel feature to share your local server securely
How it works (simple):
1) You run the Intercept API backend and dashboard
2) The extension captures local requests from your browser
3) It streams those requests to the dashboard so you can inspect or replay them
Tunnel feature:
If you enable the tunnel, Intercept API can expose your localhost through a secure relay so a remote teammate can test your local API without you deploying it. This is optional and off by default.
Privacy / Permissions:
- By default, it only captures requests to localhost and 127.0.0.1
- Optional permissions can be enabled for tunneling features
- Data stays between your browser and your self‑hosted backend
