Large Language Models (LLMs) typically process Markdown and text more efficiently than complex document formats, which often contain additional formatting, metadata, and structural overhead that can increase token usage. By converting content into Markdown before submission, LLM Friendly helps reduce unnecessary token consumption and enables AI models to focus on the actual information rather than document formatting. The extension supports one-click document conversion, optional automatic conversion when files are uploaded or pasted, OCR-powered text extraction from images, direct insertion of generated Markdown into chat inputs, clipboard copying, Markdown downloads, and locally stored conversion history. Users can also enable the extension on custom websites beyond the built-in supported platforms.
