Changelog
- Jun 3, 2026description
Pull the thread. Unravel the feed. Threads opens to "For you" — a feed ordered by an algorithm whose job is to keep you scrolling. Thread Pull treats that feed like something that deserves a warning label. In place of the endless, auto-tuned stream you get a calm, plain-packaging-style notice — so you spend time on Threads on purpose, not by reflex. Everything else about Threads stays exactly where you left it. WHAT IT DOES • Covers the "For you" feed with a quiet warning card — 25 rotating, public-health-style messages and original line art — instead of the infinite scroll. • Prefer not to see it at all? Switch to Redirect mode and Thread Pull takes you straight to your chronological Following feed. • Leaves Following, Saved, and your custom feeds completely untouched. It only ever acts on "For you." • Strikes a red line through the "For you" label in the navigation, so the algorithmic feed reads as off-limits at a glance. • Shows how long you've been on Threads today, right on the card — a gentle nudge that shifts to amber, then red, as the minutes add up. • Lets you "Reveal anyway" for a few seconds when you genuinely need something, then quietly re-covers the feed. WHY INSTALL IT Engagement-ranked feeds are built to be hard to put down — that's the point of them. Thread Pull doesn't block Threads, hide your friends, or delete anything. It just adds a moment of friction and a reminder at the spot where the pull is strongest, and hands the decision back to you. If you like Threads for keeping up with people but resent the time the "For you" feed quietly eats, this is for you. PRIVATE BY DESIGN No account. No servers. No analytics, trackers, or network requests of any kind. The only things Thread Pull saves are your settings and a local daily timer, and they never leave your browser. The single permission it requests is "storage." NOT AFFILIATED WITH META OR THREADS Thread Pull is an independent project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Meta or Threads. Its messages paraphrase widely-discussed public-health concerns about engagement-ranked feeds; they are advocacy "warning labels," not official regulatory text.
