About

Sakinah.now is a browser companion for carrying difficult moments on the web into a guided, Quran-centered reflection.

Sometimes a sentence, post, headline, argument, or article can leave the heart heavy before there is time to slow down. Instead of reacting immediately, Sakinah.now helps you pause, name what you are feeling, and bring that exact moment into a private reflection flow designed to return you to sakinah: a steadier, clearer inner state.

How it works:

- Select text on any webpage.
- Right-click and choose “Bring me back to Sakinah now.”
Add the feeling in your own words, or let the app help infer the emotional state behind what affected you (Nafs-driven reading)
- Click 'Begin Quranic reflection'
From there, the app helps the user move from agitation toward perspective through a Quranic lens. It guides the user to relevant Quran ayahs and pairs them with carefully matched human-written reflections. These reflections are not AI-generated. They are powered by reflections from QuranReflect.com, helping connect the user’s emotional state to real, human-written Quranic insight. The purpose is not only to comfort the user in the moment, but to help reorient how daily fears, regrets, burdens, and emotional disturbances are understood.

What makes Sakinah.now different:

It starts from the exact words that affected you.
It is built for moments of emotional disturbance, not generic note-taking or bookmarking.
It helps surface the feeling beneath the reaction, including deeper nafs-oriented readings when helpful.
It brings the user toward relevant Quranic guidance and human-written reflections from QuranReflect.com that closely relate to the emotional state behind the selected text.
It is designed to help the heart step back from the lens of agitation, ego, fear, or impulse, and see the moment with greater spiritual clarity.
Useful for moments like:

A news story that leaves you anxious or burdened
A comment or message that keeps replaying in your mind
An article that stirs fear, grief, anger, envy, regret, or restlessness
Online content that unsettles your heart and makes you want to pause before reacting

Sakinah.now is intentionally narrow in what it carries over. The extension is designed to pass only the selected text and the feeling you enter, or the feeling inferred from that selected text when you choose that option. It does not send your wider browsing history into the reflection flow. It is meant to stay focused on the specific moment that needs Quranic reorientation.

Sakinah.now is for people who want more than an instant reaction to what they encounter online. It is for those who want to pause, understand what was stirred inside them, and return to a more grounded way of seeing through the Quran.
