About

On Which? is a free Chrome extension that instantly reveals the technology behind any website you visit. With one click, see what powers the sites in your browser — content management, frameworks, analytics, ecommerce, payment systems, hosting infrastructure, and more.

Whether you are a developer scoping competitor stacks, a marketer building lead lists by technology, an agency running technical audits, or simply curious about how a website is built — On Which? gives you the answer in seconds.

WHAT IT DOES

- Identifies 7,900+ web technologies across 30+ categories
- Maintains a 7-day local history of sites you have analyzed
- Exports your history as a CSV file with a free account
- Runs entirely in your browser, no remote tracking
- Modern Manifest V3 architecture

HOW IT WORKS

Click the extension icon on any HTTP or HTTPS website. A popup appears with the detected technology profile organized by category — content management, frontend framework, analytics, marketing tools, payment, hosting, security, and more. Switch to the History tab to review past detections from the last 7 days. Export the list as CSV anytime by signing in to your free On Which account.

WHO USES IT

- Web developers researching how a site is built
- Sales teams generating leads filtered by technology
- Marketing agencies preparing competitive audits
- Recruiters evaluating a company's engineering stack
- SEO specialists analyzing site infrastructure
- Designers identifying website builders and platforms
- Anyone curious about a website's underlying tools

PRIVACY FIRST

Technology detection runs entirely on your device. Your 7-day visit history stays in your browser's local storage. We do not collect personal data, track which websites you visit, or send your browsing patterns anywhere.

Your data leaves your browser only when you sign in and explicitly click "Export to CSV" — at which point the local history is sent to our server to generate the downloadable file. This is the only outbound transmission, and it requires your action.

QUESTIONS?

Is it really free?
Yes. Detection is free. The optional CSV export requires a free account, but no payment is required.

Where is the data stored?
Locally in your browser via Chrome's storage API. Your history never leaves unless you explicitly export it.

Does it slow down browsing?
The extension is lightweight and adds no measurable slowdown to page loads.

What sites does it work on?
Any HTTP or HTTPS website. It does not work on chrome:// internal pages or local files.
