About

Tackt keeps your pinned tabs exactly where they belong. If you rely on pinned tabs for Gmail, Calendar, Slack, or any daily-use site, you know how easily Chrome loses them after a crash, update, or accidental close. Tackt protects your pinned tabs by automatically restoring them on startup, preventing cross-domain navigation hijacks, and recovering from crashes — all without any manual effort.

Set your default pinned tabs once in the popup, and Tackt ensures they're always open, always in order, and always showing the right page. Links that would navigate away from a pinned tab are quietly opened in a new tab instead, keeping your workspace intact.

Key Features:

Automatic restoration — Your default pinned tabs reopen every time you launch Chrome, even after a crash or update. Session state is saved every 15 seconds for reliable recovery.

Domain protection — When something tries to navigate a pinned tab to a different website, Tackt reverts the tab and opens the link separately. Your pinned tab stays untouched.

Smart link handling — Cross-domain links clicked inside pinned tabs automatically open in a new tab. Same-site links work normally. Middle-click, Ctrl+click, and target="_blank" links are all handled cleanly.

Login flow awareness — Tackt recognizes authentication redirects to providers like Google, GitHub, and Microsoft. It allows the login round-trip without triggering domain protection.

Duplicate prevention — If the same URL ends up pinned twice from a session restore glitch or redirect, Tackt detects and removes the duplicate automatically.

Tab ordering — Your default tabs maintain the exact order you set in the popup. Add, remove, and reorder tabs with a simple interface.

Quick add — Already have tabs pinned? Use Quick Add to import them into your defaults with one click.

Tackt requests only the permissions it needs: tabs (to monitor pinned state), storage (to save your configuration), and webNavigation (to detect cross-domain navigations). No data is collected, no information is sent externally, and no account is required.
