About
Tired of scrolling through dozens of open tabs to find the one you actually want?
Tabs Cleaner gives you a live dashboard of your browser tabs — duplicates, idle ones, domain breakdown — and lets you clean up in seconds. No data leaves your device. Ever.
What you get
A popup on the toolbar
- Counts of windows, tabs, pinned and audible tabs — click Pinned or Audible to jump straight to the first matching tab
- The 5 tabs you haven't touched in the longest time, ordered by idle time, one click to focus
- Duplicate URLs with a trash icon that removes the extras and keeps your most recent one
- A shortcut to the full dashboard
A full dashboard (opens in its own tab)
- Every open tab grouped by domain, with a favicon for each domain
- Live filter by URL or title (case-insensitive, debounced)
- Collapse / expand per domain, or all at once
- Domain order stays stable when you close tabs — the list never jumps under your cursor
- Close all tabs of a URL (trash icon) or of a whole domain ("Close all")
- A bulk Clean up duplicates action on the filtered set — keeps one tab per URL, closes the rest
- Every destructive action shows an Undo toast that restores the closed tabs exactly where they were
- Keyboard shortcuts: / focuses the filter, Esc clears it
- Live updates when you open or close tabs in other windows
Privacy
- No data leaves your device. Ever.
- No analytics, no telemetry, no network request of any kind
- No storage: nothing is saved between sessions
- No background service worker running when you don't need it
- The only permission requested is tabs, used exclusively to read the metadata displayed in the UI
About the "Read your browsing history" prompt
Chrome labels the tabs permission as "Read your browsing history" during install. That's standard wording — technically it lets the extension read the URL and title of your open tabs, which is exactly what Tabs Cleaner needs to show you the dashboard. Nothing is sent anywhere, nothing is written to disk. The source code is public so you can verify.
