Changelog
- Jun 9, 2026description
What is this extension for? This extension automatically selects the resolution of YouTube videos based on their content and your preferences. How does it work? The extension automatically searches the video's source code for predefined tags or tags that you have manually added. It then associates each tag with a type of video (Music, Gaming, etc.) and applies the resolution you have chosen for that type of content. Customization: You can define your own tags to search for, specify the type of content, and even assign a corresponding emoji. Purpose of the extension? To save bandwidth and energy. Since YouTube forces video loading even for music or podcasts, it makes sense to minimize bandwidth usage by selecting a lower resolution. That’s why, in case of conflicting video types, the lowest resolution takes priority.
