About

Convert selected text into Unicode-style text locally in your browser, then copy, insert, or replace it in supported editable fields with ease.

Unicode Text Converter helps you transform selected text into Unicode-style variations directly in Chrome.

The extension works locally in the browser and provides a quick way to preview and apply styled Unicode text without using external conversion services.

Features:
→ Convert selected text into multiple Unicode-style formats
→ Open the style picker with a keyboard shortcut
→ Preview styles before applying them
→ Copy converted text to the clipboard
→ Insert converted text at the caret in supported editable fields
→ Replace selected text in supported inputs, textareas, and editable fields
→ Use the popup for manual text entry and conversion
→ Save your last-used style and preferences.

Included style families:
↳ Circled
↳ Negative circled
↳ Fullwidth Mathematical bold
↳ Mathematical bold italic
↳ Script and bold script where supported by Unicode
↳ Double struck
↳ Monospace
↳ Sans serif variants
↳ Parenthesized
↳ Regional indicator
↳ Squared and negative squared
↳ Superscript
↳ Small caps
↳ Reversed and flipped styles
↳ Combining mark effects such as underline and strikethrough

How it works:
1. Select text on a webpage
2. Open the picker with the configured shortcut
3. Choose a style
4. Copy the result or apply it in supported editable fields

Permissions transparency:
→ The extension accesses the text you select on webpages so it can convert and apply Unicode styles.
→ Storage is used to save your preferences, such as your last-used style and behavior settings.
→ Clipboard access is used when you choose to copy converted text.
→ The extension is intended to run locally in the browser and does not require external text-conversion APIs.

Limitations:
→ Some Unicode style sets are incomplete, so unsupported characters remain unchanged
→ Direct replacement is only available in supported editable fields
→ Standard read-only page text can be converted and copied, but not directly modified
→ Some websites use custom editors that may limit insertion or replacement behavior. There you have to try the copy paste way!
