About
EchoToDo converts your voice notes into structured, categorized task lists directly in your browser. All processing happens on your device — no account, no server, no data leaves your computer. FEATURES • Voice Dictation: Tap the microphone button and speak naturally. EchoToDo splits compound sentences (e.g. "Buy groceries and then call the dentist") into individual tasks automatically. • Priority & Category Tagging: Each task is tagged with a priority level (High, Medium, Low) and a category extracted from your speech. • Domain-Specific Task Lists: Tasks are automatically grouped by the website you have open — so your GitHub tasks stay separate from your YouTube notes. • Manual Task Entry: Add tasks by typing without using the microphone at all. • Pomodoro Focus Timer: Built-in focus and break timer with desktop notifications. Set a custom duration or use the preset 25-minute focus / 5-minute break sessions. • Side Panel: Open EchoToDo in a persistent side panel so your task list stays visible while you browse. • Export: Download your tasks as a JSON file at any time. HOW TO USE 1. Click the EchoToDo icon in the Chrome toolbar to open the popup. 2. Tap the microphone button and speak your tasks naturally, or use the + button to type a task manually. 3. Tasks appear in the list below, tagged by priority and category. 4. Use the Focus / Break timer to manage your work sessions. 5. Click the side panel button (folder icon) to keep your tasks visible alongside any webpage. PERMISSIONS • "Microphone" — Required only for voice dictation. All speech processing uses the browser's built-in Web Speech API and never leaves your device. Microphone access is requested only when you tap the mic button. • "Notifications" — Used to alert you when your focus or break timer session ends. • "Storage" — Saves your task lists, timer state, and settings locally in your Chrome profile. • "Side Panel" — Enables the persistent side panel workspace. • "Alarms" — Schedules background timer events so the Pomodoro timer works accurately even when the popup is closed. • "Tabs" — Reads the hostname of your current active tab to automatically sort tasks by website domain. • "Context Menus" — Adds a right-click "Add Voice Task" option to open the side panel quickly. PRIVACY EchoToDo does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data outside your device. No analytics, no tracking, no external servers. Voice transcription runs entirely through the Chrome Web Speech API on-device. All tasks are stored in local browser storage and can be deleted at any time. SUPPORT Found a bug or have a suggestion?
