⭐ What's new in v2.0 (April 2026)

- Smarter dead-link checker — scans your whole library and flags only genuine 404/410/451 broken bookmarks. No more false positives from chrome://, Cloudflare bot checks or rate-limited sites.
- Duplicate bookmarks, done right — when you save a URL that already exists, see every folder it's in and choose: update all copies in one go, or keep them as separate entries.
- Tag dropdown — focus the tag field and pick from your existing tags instantly. No more misremembering "work" vs "Work".
- chrome://-URLs bookmarkable — finally save chrome://extensions, chrome-extension:// or any internal URL just like a normal bookmark.

Password Vault
A real password manager built into your browser. AES-256-GCM encryption with PBKDF2 at 600,000 iterations (OWASP 2023+), a built-in password generator, one-click auto-fill, automatic login detection, and recovery codes. Your master password never leaves your device.

Session Manager
Save every open tab as a named session and restore them later with one click. Ideal for switching between projects or picking up research exactly where you stopped.

Task Manager

Browser History
Browse and search the last 30 days of history, grouped by day. Save any entry as a bookmark directly, or clean history by timeframe (last hour / 24 h / 7 days / 30 days).

Google Drive Sync
Optional backup and cross-device sync through your own Google Drive. Auto-sync every 2 minutes keeps all your devices in step with a proper 3-way merge — no overwrites on conflict. Pinmark uses only drive.file scope: it can only see files it created itself.

Privacy First
Everything stays on your device by default. No tracking, no analytics, no data collection, no cookies. Drive sync is optional and opt-in.

Why does Pinmark request access to "all websites"?
The optional auto-capture feature for the password vault detects login forms on any site you visit and offers to save the credentials. Captured passwords are encrypted immediately with an RSA-OAEP public key — they can only be decrypted after unlocking your vault with the master password. The vault's data-encryption key never leaves your device.

Auto-capture can be turned off any time in Settings. Without it, Pinmark still works fully as a bookmark manager, session saver, task manager and history browser — the "all sites" permission is only used for login detection.

⭐ What's new in v2.2.0 (April 2026)

• Zero-click Drive restore after login — Sign in with Google on a fresh install and Pinmark automatically pulls your latest Drive backup in the background. No manual "Restore" click. Your data just appears.
• Settings travel with the Drive backup — Theme, font size, language, sidebar width, all toggles and preferences are now part of the backup and restored 1:1 on a new device. Works even if Chrome Sync is off.
• Sensible defaults after the first login — Auto-sync every 2 minutes, weekly Drive backup, and favicon display turn on automatically after your first Google sign-in. Any deliberate opt-out you make later is always respected.
• Compact Pro/Free status strip — The old oversized upsell banner is gone. In its place: a slim single-line strip above the footer that shows your plan status — green for Pro, gold for Free, blue during trial.
• Update-click confirmation — "Update now" now shows a brief "Installing update…" toast so you know the click registered before Pinmark reloads.
• Drive-connect error detail — If Drive authorization fails, Pinmark now shows the underlying error beneath the main status, so OAuth or network issues are diagnosable instead of silently hidden.
• More readable default font — New installs open at 15px instead of 13px. Existing users keep whatever they've set.
• Bugfix: "Offline" banner no longer sticks — A license-cache bug that left a stale "Offline — Pro valid until …" warning showing for days is fixed. The banner now disappears the moment a fresh license check succeeds.
