  WHY USE SCAMTRAPALERT?
  Scammers use urgency, fake jobs, and phishing messages every day on WhatsApp, Gmail, and LinkedIn. One wrong click or reply can cost you money or personal data. ScamTrapAlert helps you check suspicious text before you trust it.
  
  WHAT IS IT?
  ScamTrapAlert is a free Chrome extension that uses AI to analyze messages and pages you choose to scan. You get a clear risk score, scam type (for example phishing or fake job), warning signals, and simple advice on what to do next.
  
  WHERE DOES IT WORK?
  • WhatsApp Web — active chat messages
  • Gmail — open email
  • LinkedIn — messages and job posts
  • Other web pages — visible content when you click Scan
  
  HOW IT WORKS
  1. Open WhatsApp Web, Gmail, LinkedIn, or any supported page
  2. Click the ScamTrapAlert icon → Scan current tab
  3. See your risk score, threat summary, and manipulation signals (urgency, phishing, fake recruiter, trust tricks, and more)
  4. Optional: turn on auto-scan in Settings to analyze after a page loads

  • API keys stay on our server—not inside the extension
  • Selected text is sent over HTTPS only when you scan, for AI analysis
  • Settings and local history stay in your browser until you clear them
  
  FREE PLAN
  Daily scan limit applies on the free tier. Upgrade options may be added later for more scans.
