About

LimitAI gives you control over how much AI influences your Google searches.
Sometimes you just want to know how to spell "necessary," the date of Thanksgiving, or what year a movie came out. No need for an AI summary for simple searches.

LimitAI removes the AI Overview and directs searches to the Web tab, making it easier to browse regular links and form your own understanding. It’s useful when you want to explore different sources, compare perspectives, or research without extra interpretation.

What you can enable:
- Block AI Overview: Switches your searches to Google's "Web" tab, removing the AI Overview box entirely.
- Reduce AI influence: Appends -ai to your searches, nudging Google to deprioritize AI-generated content throughout the results page.

Use one or both. Toggle them on and off anytime from the extension popup.
LimitAI gives you a simpler way to search, when simple is all you need.

Technical details:
Most "remove AI Overview" extensions work by hiding the AI box after the page loads by using CSS or JavaScript to make it not visible. The problem is Google already generated the AI response, it's just not visible to you. LimitAI takes a different approach.

Block AI Overview adds udm=14 to your search URL, which routes your query through Google's "Web" tab pipeline instead of the default "All" tab. This instructs Google to return web-only results before the page is built, rather than hiding the AI response after the fact.

Reduce AI influence appends -ai to your search query. This is widely believed to signal to Google's ranking system to deprioritize AI-generated content in results, though Google has not officially confirmed this behavior.

Neither method is a guaranteed bypass — Google's backend is a black box and can change at any time. But both are meaningfully different from simply hiding an element on the page.
