About
SignalTabs is a local-first Chrome tab manager and new tab workspace for people who work with too many tabs open. Instead of scanning a crowded tab strip, open a new tab and see your current browser state organized into a readable workspace. SignalTabs helps you group tabs by domain, clean duplicate tabs, save tabs for later, and restore closed tabs when cleanup goes too far. What SignalTabs helps you do: - Organize open tabs by domain across Chrome windows - Spot duplicate tabs and close the extras while keeping one copy - Keep important tabs pinned and visible - Save useful pages for later before closing them - Restore recently closed tabs from Archive - Search open tabs, saved items, bookmarks, and history with a keyboard shortcut - Use light, dark, or auto theme mode - Choose how long Archive items are kept SignalTabs is built for browser-heavy work: - engineers managing docs, GitHub, localhost, and AI tools - designers collecting references and review links - product managers moving between docs, tickets, and dashboards - researchers, writers, founders, and operators who live in Chrome Why people use SignalTabs: - Bookmarks are too permanent for pages you only need later. - Leaving everything open makes the browser harder to scan. - Duplicate tabs waste attention and screen space. - A new tab page can be a useful tab organizer, not just an empty screen. SignalTabs is local-first by default: - No account required - No tab data uploaded by default - No server-side tab sync layer - Settings, saved items, and archive state stay in Chrome extension storage and related browser APIs SignalTabs is not a heavy session manager or a knowledge base. It is designed to help you see the mess, clean duplicates, save what matters, find it again, and get back to work.
