Our Chrome extension makes taking paid studies effortless: testers can dive straight into recording sessions from their browser by installing this fast, secure web recorder. No separate apps to download, no clunky video tools to learn.

The task2k Recorder lets testers complete most studies without ever switching tabs. Test questions appear in a side panel right next to the study screen, screen and microphone recording start with one click, and your recording uploads safely in the background as you record — no waiting at the end.


WHAT THE EXTENSION DOES

• Side-panel question overlay — test questions appear next to the study, no tab juggling
• One-click screen + audio recording — clean WebM video, crystal-clear talk-aloud audio
• Chunked background upload — your work is safe even on slow connections; no long wait after submission
• Crash-safe recordings — if Chrome crashes mid-test, your recording is recoverable
• Auto-connects when you open a task2k study — no setup, no copy-pasting tokens


WHO IT'S FOR

You only need this extension if you're a verified tester on task2k. To sign up as a tester and start earning ₦1,000–₦25,000 per study, visit task2k.com. The extension itself is free; you get paid per completed study.


PERMISSIONS WE ASK FOR (AND WHY)

• Screen capture — to record your test session (only when YOU click Start)
• Microphone — to capture your talk-aloud commentary
• Side panel — to show test questions next to your screen
• Storage — to keep recording chunks safe across browser restarts
• Tabs / windows — to open the side panel on the correct tab
• Alarms — to keep the recorder responsive during long sessions


WHAT WE DON'T DO

• We don't record outside study sessions — recording only runs while you're actively taking a test
• We don't track your browsing or send data to third parties
• We don't keep your recording forever — it's automatically deleted 7 days after the company reviews it
• We don't use canvas, audio, or WebGL fingerprinting — only a first-party cookie for fraud prevention

• Compatible with Windows, macOS, and Linux
• Desktop / laptop only — phone-based studies use the task2k mobile flow instead
