Changelog
- May 22, 2026description
Halo Navigator is a specialised toolkit for HaloITSM administrators, consultants, QA engineers, Agents or anyone else. It helps you stay organised by highlighting which environment you are in (like Production or Test), provides a "Command Palette" to jump between settings instantly, shortcuts to perform actions, save text fields, links to custom fields, action group buttons and more. Fixed in 2.7.0.2 • Three character glass ceiling on custom field reveal. New in 2.7.0.1 • Number if default themes increased • Sub-Text size and opacity increased for better visibility • Hub redesigned for a tab style layout • SQL Generator multi ITIL Ticket Type select Fixed in 2.7.0.1 • SQL Prettifier Joins new lines correctly moves LEFT, RIGHT, FULL, OUTER and CROSS onto new line with JOIN • SQL Generator Problem and Service Request RequestTypeNew IDs corrected. New in 2.7 • Tab Visibility: Tab management for the Halo extension, display or hide tabs such as Rules, Jumps, Actions etc. • Agent Search: Type @Agent [Name] or to jump directly to the agent's configuration page. • User Search: Type @User [Name] to jump directly to the customer/user search results. • SQL Prettifier: A robust formatting engine with 15+ configurable rules to improve custom SQL reports o Custom indentation (Spaces vs. Tabs). o Statement/Clause break counts. o Uppercase keyword standardization. o Expanded comma lists and boolean expressions. o Comments on new lines. • Browser History Sync: Tracks recently visited Halo modules (up to 50 entries) New tab and disabled by default. • Auto-Save Drafts: Automatically saves form progress every 30 (can be configured) seconds for sites matching environment rules. (disabled by default). New in 2.6.4 • Tab reveal: This feature allows users to see technical IDs on custom tabs and quickly navigate to their configuration pages, similar to the existing Action and Field Reveal features. Toggled on on the Tools Tab Fixed in 2.6.4: Favicon Persistence: Favicons lost their persistence in the previous release and displayed only during a browser refresh. New in 2.6.3 Config Tab: • Theme tab renamed to Config • Command Palette Config (Trigger Key Mapping) added • Export JSON/Import JSON moved to Config tab Trigger Key Mapping: Users can now customise their workflow by setting the trigger key that best fits their typing habits while maintaining the full suite of HaloITSM productivity tools. Default trigger key (#) can be updated in the Config tab. Set Trigger Key, Apply Changes and refresh browser. Actions initiated by Trigger Key (##) will be remapped to the new Trigger Key. Fixed in 2.6.3 Export/Import JSON correctly includes Stored Snapshots New in 2.6.2 In-Context Configuration: You can now stay on any page and type JUMP [CODE] (e.g., JUMP ADO) to instantly save that relative path as a shortcut. Extension Integration: The background.js has been updated to handle the JUMP command within the injected palette, ensuring shortcuts are saved directly to your extension's storage. Visual Feedback: Overwrite Warning: If you use a code that already exists, the palette turns red and shows a ⚠️ warning icon. Confirmation Banners: A sleek status banner appears at the top of the page confirming the save: "Jump 'ADO' saved to /config/..." Robust Path Detection: The system now correctly handles complex URLs with query parameters, ensuring your jumps take you exactly where you were. Discoverability: Added a "Save Jump" hint to the command palette footer and included JUMP in the system commands list. Tab Behaviour: Is a customisable setting in Halo Navigator that determines your "default" preference for opening new tabs when using the Command Palette. Because HaloITSM has its own internal tab system (the tabs you see inside the Halo webpage) and your browser has its own tabs (the ones at the top of Chrome), this setting lets you decide which one should be the priority. There are two modes you can choose from: 1. Halo Mode (The "Integrated" Experience) This is designed for users who like to keep their workspace contained within a single browser window using Halo's internal navigation. Pressing TAB: Opens the selected jump in a New Halo Tab (internally). Typing NT: Acts as the "alternative" and opens the jump in a New Browser Tab. 2. Browser Mode (The "Multi-Window" Experience) This is ideal for users with multiple monitors or those who prefer using standard browser shortcuts and window management. Pressing TAB: Opens the selected jump in a New Browser Tab. Typing NT: Acts as the "alternative" and opens the jump in a New Halo Tab (internally). New in 2.6 • New: Action Field Reveal: Shows the database ID (e.g., ACT_123) next to Action Group Actions. Click on ACT_123 to open the Action configuration in a new tab • New: Action Jumps: Create Action Jumps and run them from the # Palette. Action jumps are prefixed #. Can be configured to Triage, add Public Note or Private Note etc. • New: Favicon: Display a Favicon dot on the browser tab and applies the Rule colour. Enabled on the Theme tab. New, updated or fixed in V.2.5: • Fixed: Label and styles working again • Updated: Colour scheme • Updated: Dashboard is now Hub • New: Colour scheme • Vault: Capture form Text Fields, inject into the form later • New: Export/Import JSON. Export and import configuration from the HNE • New: Prettify SQL. Improve Custom SQL appearance • New: NT commands. Use NT in the command palette to open a Halo tab or NT space to open a Halo tab jump Support documentation: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1ZkbsvjXwX2vynObvjsJiObvo7wz5dvfIUomNPlUrIMc/edit?usp=sharing ⚡ Instant Jump Commands (The Power User Palette) Stop wasting time clicking through complex menus. The core of Halo Navigator is the # Palette, allowing you to teleport across your Halo instance in seconds: • One-Key Access: Simply press the # key to open the command window. • Jump Anywhere: Type the name of any module or folder to go there instantly. • Custom Shortcodes: Set up your own "jump codes"—for example, type #con to jump to Configuration or #tic to jump to your Ticket list. • Fast Navigation: Press Enter to open in your current tab, or Tab to jump to a new one. 🛡️ Safe Environment Switching Stop the risk of making "the wrong change in the wrong place." Halo Navigator automatically visualises which environment you are in (Dev, UAT, or Production) based on the URL: • Visual Signatures: Set distinct looks for different sites using full-page tints, thick borders, or top accent bars. • Instant Context: One glance at the colour of your browser tells you exactly where you are before you hit "Save." 🧪 QA & Consultant Toolkit Streamline your testing and configuration tasks: • Field ID Reveal: Displays technical database IDs (e.g. CF_123) next to labels. Click any ID to jump directly to that field’s settings page in a new tab. • Mandatory Ghosting: Empty required fields pulse red, showing you exactly what is missing on long forms. • Smart Fill: Type fill into the palette to instantly populate forms with realistic test data. 📊 SQL Hub (Query Generator) Build report queries without needing to remember the database structure. • Tick the tables and columns you need. • Auto-Join: The tool suggests the best ways to link tables for you. • Export: Copy your code straight into the Halo Report builder.Halo Navigator is a specialised toolkit for HaloITSM administrators, consultants, QA engineers, Agents or anyone else.
