Changelog
- May 1, 2026description
Why you need it Your browser is the most used application on your computer, and attackers know that. They use websites to hijack your clipboard, fingerprint your device, scan for installed extensions, probe for crypto wallets, and trick you into running dangerous commands. Most of this happens silently in the background while you are just browsing. This extension sits between you and those threats. It monitors how websites interact with your browser and steps in when something looks wrong. If a site tries to copy a malicious command to your clipboard, we block it. If a page is building a fingerprint to track you, we flag it. If someone is scanning for your crypto wallets or installed extensions, we catch it. If a site asks for your location, we give it fake coordinates instead of your real ones. You do not need to configure anything. There are no settings to learn, no filters to manage, and no decisions to make. It works quietly in the background and only speaks up when there is a real problem. What makes it different We built this to handle the threats that exist today and the ones showing up tomorrow. Browser based attacks evolve constantly, and so does this extension. New detection patterns are added with every update so your protection stays current without you having to do anything. When a new attack technique starts spreading, we add coverage for it. Why trust it There is no account, no signup, no tracking, and no data collection. Zero. The extension never contacts a server. All detection happens locally on your machine. Updates come through the Chrome Web Store like any other extension. This is built by Olsson Security in Zurich as a free tool for the community. This extension is part of the ZeroExfil ecosystem. The full ZeroExfil platform provides endpoint level visibility, threat detection, and response capabilities across your entire organization. Browser Protect brings a piece of that protection directly into your browser for free. No account required, no strings attached.
