  Select Translate is built for the moments when full-page translation is too much, unavailable, or breaks your reading flow. Instead of translating an entire website, you can highlight a specific word, sentence, or paragraph and translate only that part instantly from the right-click menu.
  
  This makes it easier to read articles, papers, lecture notes, and multilingual websites while keeping the original page layout and context intact. You stay focused on the exact passage you care about without replacing everything on the page.

When a page is readable but confusing, highlight the difficult line and get a plain-language explanation in the same tab. When a PDF is scanned or image-based and normal text selection does not work, use Assist mode to draw a region around the exact passage you want help with.

  What you can do:

  How it stays focused:
  
   - You choose the exact text or image region to process.
   - Results stay attached to the page instead of sending you to another tool.
   - Assist mode captures only the region you draw, not the whole page.
  
  Important details:
  
   - Standard selected-text translation works without an account.
   - Assist mode, explanations, flashcards, and other AI study tools require sign-in.
   - The extension does not automatically translate full pages.
   - The extension does not scan the background or collect browsing history.
