    description
Select Translate is built for the moments when full-page translation is too much, unavailable, or breaks your reading flow. Instead of translating an entire website, you can highlight a specific word, sentence, or paragraph and translate only that part instantly from the right-click menu.

This makes it easier to read articles, papers, lecture notes, and multilingual websites while keeping the original page layout and context intact. You stay focused on the exact passage you care about without replacing everything on the page.

Select Translate is especially useful for:

    - Looking up unfamiliar words without leaving the page
    - Translating a single sentence or paragraph in context
    - Reading research papers, articles, and study materials more efficiently
    - Keeping the rest of the page unchanged while translating only what matters

    Features:

    - Translate selected text instantly from the right-click menu
    - Works for single words, sentences, and full paragraphs
    - Keeps the rest of the page unchanged
    - Supports your preferred target language
    - Clean in-page translation display with copy support
    - Useful for reading, studying, and multilingual browsing

    What's new:
     *Draggable popup

    - 0.5.19
     * added study hub
Built for students and language learners: translate selected text, capture scanned PDFs, explain difficult lines, and save flashcards without leaving the page.

Select Translate helps you stay on the page and work on the exact line you care about.

Highlight a word, sentence, or paragraph and translate it without copy/paste or switching tabs. When a page is readable but confusing, highlight the difficult line and get a plain-language explanation in the same tab. When a PDF is scanned or image-based and normal text selection does not work, use Assist mode to draw a region around the exact passage you want help with.

Select Translate is built for focused reading and study workflows, not full-page translation.

    What you can do:
     - Translate selected text directly in Chrome.
     - Explain difficult lines while you read.
     - Use Assist mode for scanned PDFs, screenshots, and image-based documents.
     - Create flashcards from highlights and review them later in Study Hub.
     - Save notes and highlights tied to what you were reading.

    How it stays focused:

     - You choose the exact text or image region to process.
     - Results stay attached to the page instead of sending you to another tool.
     - Assist mode captures only the region you draw, not the whole page.

    Important details:

     - Standard selected-text translation works without an account.
     - Assist mode, explanations, flashcards, and other AI study tools require sign-in.
     - The extension does not automatically translate full pages.
     - The extension does not scan the background or collect browsing history.

If you read articles, course materials, PDFs, and scanned documents in Chrome, Select Translate helps you highlight, translate, explain, and keep reading.
