LearnSafe YouTube Guard is for parents, teachers, tutors, and homeschool families who use YouTube for lessons but do not want the Home feed, Shorts, search results, or recommendations pulling kids away.

With a parent PIN, you choose what is allowed:
* Redirect YouTube Home to Subscriptions.
* Optionally redirect YouTube Search results to Subscriptions.
* Block Shorts pages and Shorts surfaces.
* Hide watch-page recommendations, autoplay prompts, and end-screen suggestions.
* Allow videos from approved YouTube channels.
* Optionally scan visible YouTube page text locally for learning-focused videos.

Basic mode is strict: only approved channels are allowed when the approved-channel guard is enabled.

Advanced mode gives more flexibility for classrooms and homeschool use. You can set trusted education channels, learning terms, block terms, and a score threshold so clearly educational videos can stay visible even when the channel is not yet on your approved list.

LearnSafe is intentionally local-first. It does not send browsing activity, YouTube page content, approved channels, settings, or PIN data to remote servers. The parent PIN is stored only as a salted local hash through Chrome storage.

LearnSafe is not a full-device parental control suite. It is a focused Chrome extension for making YouTube less distracting when kids need YouTube for school, tutoring, homework, or supervised learning.
