Every website is an agreement, whether you know it or not.

Fine Print is a free Chrome extension that reads legal agreements for you and flags what you need to know in plain English. It detects terms of service, privacy policies, and consent text automatically as you browse.

    • Reads them and flags risks in plain language anyone can understand
    • Highlights arbitration clauses, data sharing, AI training, content licenses, and more
    • Categorizes findings as red flags, warnings, or notes

    Your personal dashboard
    • See everything you've agreed to in one place
    • Get a personalized risk score based on your digital footprint

    • More monthly analyses (10 on Persona, unlimited on Sentinel)
    • Monitor agreements for changes so companies can't shift terms on you
    • Email alerts when tracked agreements update
    • Opt-out suggestions showing how to protect yourself

Fine Print works on most signup forms, full legal pages, cookie banners, e-sign documents, and more. Agreement text is analyzed in real time and never stored on our servers.

    Works everywhere you browse
Fine Print analyzes most signup forms, full legal pages, privacy policies, cookie banners, e-sign documents, and OAuth consent screens. Unlike other tools like ToS;DR (Terms of Service; Didn't Read), which relies on a pre-reviewed database of a few hundred services, Fine Print works on any legal page on the web by analyzing it in real time.

Agreement text is analyzed in real time and never stored on our servers.

    Frequently asked questions

    Is Fine Print free?
Yes. The free plan includes 2 full agreement analyses per month, the full risk breakdown with plain-language explanations, and the dashboard to track everything you've analyzed. Paid plans add more monthly analyses, change monitoring, and opt-out guidance.

    How does Fine Print work?
When you land on a page with a Terms of Service, Privacy Policy, or consent flow, Fine Print detects it automatically. Click "Analyze" and it sends the legal text to Claude (Anthropic's AI) for analysis, then returns a structured breakdown: risk level, individual findings by category, and the exact quoted text so you can verify what the agreement actually says.

What data does Fine Print collect, and is it secure?
Fine Print sends the legal text on the page you're analyzing to our API so Claude (Anthropic's AI) can return a summary with flag logic. That text is discarded after the analysis runs. It is not stored on our servers and is not used to train any AI model. Your auth token and analysis history are stored locally in your browser. We don't sell your data and don't track your browsing.

Does Fine Print train AI on the documents I analyze?
No. Documents you analyze are used only to produce your analysis and are discarded afterward. They are not used to train Anthropic's models or anyone else's.

What does Fine Print's own Terms of Service say?
We ran our own agreement through the tool. The highlights: user documents are not used for AI training and are discarded after analysis, paid plans auto-renew monthly unless you cancel (standard, but worth knowing), we give 14 days' notice before any material change to the Terms, and email notifications for change tracking are on by default but easy to turn off in account settings. Read the full Terms at https://fineprint.to/terms.

How is Fine Print different from ToS;DR?
ToS;DR (Terms of Service; Didn't Read) relies on volunteers to pre-review a few hundred major services and assign letter grades. It's excellent for those services, but has no coverage on anything it hasn't reviewed. Fine Print uses AI to analyze any legal document in real time, works on any page on the web, and monitors tracked agreements for changes. Many people use both.

Does Fine Print work on contracts and PDFs?
Fine Print works on any webpage with legal text. For contracts, consent forms, or text outside a browser tab, you can paste the text directly at https://fineprint.to/analyze.

    Which browsers are supported?
Chrome today. Other Chromium-based browsers (Edge, Brave, Arc, Opera) should also work.
