About
Quiethours — Scheduled Focus Mode for Chrome Stop context-switching. Quiethours lets you define recurring focus blocks — and when those blocks are active, it automatically applies a site overlay to keep you on track. Set it once. Let it run every week. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ KEY FEATURES ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ 🗓 WEEKLY SCHEDULE BUILDER • Create rules for any day of the week • Set precise start and end times (e.g., Mon-Fri 09:00–12:00) • Color-code each focus block at a glance • Toggle rules on or off without deleting them 🔕 AUTOMATIC FOCUS ENFORCEMENT • Chrome alarm fires exactly when your focus block begins • A customizable overlay dims distracting pages • Desktop notification reminds you when a session starts or ends 📅 GOOGLE CALENDAR INTEGRATION (Pro) • Sync focus blocks to Google Calendar as events • See your focus time alongside meetings 🌐 MULTILINGUAL • Available in English, Japanese, Korean, Spanish ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ FREE vs PRO ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ Free: ✓ 1 focus rule per day ✓ Site overlay during focus ✓ Start/end notifications Pro ($5.99/month): ✓ Unlimited focus rules ✓ Google Calendar sync ✓ Custom overlay colors ✓ Priority support ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ PRIVACY ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ All focus schedules are stored locally in your browser. No browsing history is collected or transmitted. Google Calendar sync uses OAuth and accesses only the calendar you authorize. ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━ Q: Does Quiethours block websites completely? A: Quiethours applies a visual overlay to remind you you're in focus mode. It does not hard-block access — you can dismiss the overlay if needed. Q: Does it work when Chrome is closed? A: Focus rules use Chrome Alarms, which require Chrome to be running in the background. Chrome itself does not need to be in the foreground. Q: Can I pause a focus session mid-way? A: Yes. Disable the rule toggle in the popup at any time to end the session early. Q: Will it interfere with video calls or other work tools? A: No. Quiethours does not block network requests — it only adds a UI overlay. All web apps continue to function normally. Q: Is my schedule shared with anyone? A: No. Your focus schedule is stored exclusively on your device using Chrome's local storage. Nothing is sent to any server.
