About
Gotcha — One-click bug reports that come with a runnable regression test. Gotcha is a developer and QA tool for capturing complete, reproducible bug reports from any web app — then filing them straight into your issue tracker. Stop chasing "can't reproduce." Every report Gotcha creates carries the evidence an engineer actually needs to fix the bug. When you hit a bug, click the Gotcha toolbar icon (or press Ctrl+Shift+Y / ⌘+Shift+Y). Gotcha bundles everything about that moment — a screenshot, console errors, failed network requests, your reproduction steps, a DOM snapshot, and the browser environment — into a single report you can review, redact, and file in seconds. What Gotcha captures • Screenshot of the page where the bug happened • Console logs and uncaught JavaScript errors • Network requests and failed/slow API calls • Step-by-step reproduction of what you clicked and typed • DOM snapshot and full browser environment (OS, browser, viewport, URL) • Optional deep capture: full network response bodies and pre-load requests File it where your team already works Send reports directly to Linear, Jira, GitHub Issues, or Slack using your own credentials. No middleman server — your data goes from your browser to your tracker. From bug report to regression test Gotcha turns the recorded reproduction steps into a runnable Playwright test, so the bug you just filed becomes coverage that stops it from coming back. Catch the bug once; keep it caught. Privacy by default • Capture only runs when you trigger it — never in the background • Reports are stored locally on your device until you choose to file them • Automatic redaction of secrets (auth headers, cookies, tokens, emails, card numbers, password fields) is on by default • Add your own redaction rules and block specific domains in Settings • No analytics, no ads, no tracking, and no Gotcha server Optional AI assistant (bring your own key) On the review screen, you can ask an LLM to summarize the bug and suggest debugging steps. Gotcha uses your own OpenAI, Anthropic, or Google Gemini API key, and the report is always redacted before it's sent. Who it's for Front-end and full-stack developers, QA engineers, and small product teams who want faster, higher-quality bug reports — and fewer regressions over time. Install Gotcha and turn every bug report into a test.
