About

🔍 DR in SERP shows you the Ahrefs Domain Rating (DR) of every website, directly inside your search results before you click anything.

Search engines rank pages, but they don't tell you how strong the site behind each result actually is. DR in SERP fills that gap. The moment results load on Google, Bing, DuckDuckGo, or Brave Search, every result gets a small score badge next to the site name, and a side panel lists every ranking domain with its authority score. What used to take ten tab-switches into a domain checker now takes zero.

✨ WHAT THE EXTENSION DOES

📛 DR badges on every result

Each search result shows its domain's rating on a 0–100 scale, color-coded so you can scan the whole page in about a second:

🟢 80–100 · elite authority (think Wikipedia, YouTube, major news)
🔵 60–79 · strong, established sites
🟡 40–59 · growing mid-tier sites
🟠 20–39 · newer or niche sites
⚪ 0–19 · little to no backlink authority

🤖 Works inside Google's AI answers

This is where DR in SERP is genuinely unique: badges also appear on the sources behind AI Overviews and Google AI Mode on inline citations in the answer text and on the source cards in the panel. When an AI answer tells you something, you immediately see whether that claim comes from a DR 91 publication or a DR 6 blog nobody links to.

📊 Domain Rating side panel

A compact table of every domain ranking on the page, in ranking order, with its DR. It's a live snapshot of the entire SERP's competitive landscape. Click any domain and the page scrolls to that result and highlights it. The panel docks in the empty space beside results and tucks away into a small tab when your window is narrow.

🎛️ Instant control

Toggle the badges or the panel on and off from the toolbar popup changes apply immediately on open tabs. Turn it off when you're just browsing; flip it on when you're working.

⚡ Built to be invisible until you need it

Ratings are cached on your device for a week, requests are batched and capped, and the extension only runs on search pages. No slowdown, no clutter, no interference with how search pages work.

💼 WHO USES IT, AND FOR WHAT

🎯 SEO professionals read keyword difficulty from the SERP itself

Before targeting a keyword, look at who's ranking. A results page full of 🟢 DR 85+ domains means a long uphill battle; a page with 🟡 and 🟠 sites ranking in the top five is an opening. The side panel gives you that competitive read in one glance it's a mini SERP analysis on every search you already make.

🔗 Link builders & outreach teams qualify prospects while you search

Searching for guest post opportunities, resource pages, or niche directories? The DR badge tells you instantly whether a prospect is worth your outreach email. Skip the ⚪ sites, shortlist the 🔵 ones, and prioritize the 🟢 ones without ever leaving the results page.

✍️ Content marketers & bloggers study what authority level a topic demands

When every article ranking for your topic sits on a DR 70+ domain, you know content quality alone won't be enough. When weaker domains rank, the topic is winnable with better content. That context shapes your entire content plan.

📰 Journalists, researchers & students judge sources before citing them

Domain Rating isn't a truth score, but it's a fast, objective signal of how established a source is on the web. Checking facts, building a bibliography, or verifying what an AI Overview just told you? The badge helps you decide which sources deserve your attention.

🛒 Everyday searchers one more signal against sketchy sites

Shopping comparisons, health questions, financial advice: results pages mix trustworthy sites with content farms designed to look like them. A ⚪ DR 3 badge next to a "top 10 review" site tells you something the page design is trying to hide.

🏢 Agencies explain SERPs to clients without exporting a thing

Screenshot a results page with badges and the panel visible, and the competitive story tells itself: "here's who ranks, here's their authority, here's the gap."

📈 WHAT DOMAIN RATING ACTUALLY MEASURES

Domain Rating, provided by Ahrefs (ahrefs.com), measures the strength of a website's backlink profile the quantity and quality of sites linking to it on a logarithmic 100-point scale, compared against every other website in the Ahrefs database. Logarithmic means each step up is harder than the last: growing from DR 20 to 30 is far easier than from DR 70 to 80. It's the industry's most widely used authority metric, and this extension puts it where you actually make decisions: the search results page.
