This lightweight, privacy-first extension securely shares your current tab’s URL and title with the Wytebox desktop app over a local connection. It enables context-aware assistance and intelligent activity logging while keeping your browsing content private.

No UI, no popups, and no clutter
Works with Chrome, Edge, and Chromium-based browsers
Local-only bridge to your desktop app; nothing is sent to third parties by the extension
Requirements:

Wytebox Desktop (v1.0.10 or later) running on your computer
An active Wytebox account

What it does:
Detects when your active tab changes or finishes loading
Sends only the tab’s URL and title to the Wytebox desktop app via ws://127.0.0.1:27777

Lets Wytebox apply your privacy rules and preferences before any cloud processing
What it doesn’t do:
- Does not read or capture page content, form entries, or keystrokes
- Does not track your browsing history
- Does not inject content scripts into websites

Permissions and why they’re needed
tabs: Read the active tab’s URL and title to provide context to the desktop app windows: Detect window focus changes to refresh the active tab context
host permissions (http/https/file): Required by Chrome for extensions that access tab URLs across sites; used only to read the active tab URL/title

Data usage and privacy
Only the active tab’s URL and title are shared with the Wytebox desktop app over a secure local connection
No data is sold or shared by the extension
Your privacy filters in the Wytebox desktop app can suppress or anonymize data before any upload
