Markdown Reader turns plain local Markdown files into a comfortable reading experience right in Chrome—similar to project or product documentation sites, but for files on your computer.

What it does
When you open a .md or .markdown file (or browse a folder of Markdown files), the extension renders the file with readable typography, code blocks, and tables instead of raw text.

Getting started
Install the extension, then enable “Allow access to file URLs” in the extension’s details so Chrome can open local Markdown files. After that, open a .md file with File → Open or drag it into the browser.

Privacy
Designed to work locally in your browser; it does not add accounts or send your file contents to a server for reading. Please allow access to file urls from extension settings.
