About

ViDL helps you find video resources on the page you are viewing and save the files you choose, without copying links into a separate website.

HOW IT WORKS
When you browse, the extension watches for media requests from the current tab and shows detected items in the popup. You can start a save, copy the source URL, or leave the item alone. For streamed files, it can process playlists in the browser, choose your preferred quality setting, show progress, and assemble the result locally when the stream allows it.

WHAT YOU CAN DO
• Save detected direct video files and supported streams from the current tab.
• Keep active and recent saves visible in a compact download manager, even after the popup closes.
• Track streamed downloads with progress, segment counts, and status messages.
• Search detected items by URL or filename and filter by type when a busy page exposes multiple resources.
• Choose a light or dark theme, adjust popup density, set a filename prefix, and decide whether detections clear when you navigate.
• Add known streaming hostnames to improve detection of sites that use extensionless media URLs.

PRIVACY AND CONTROL
ViDL runs in your browser. It does not create an account, send telemetry, or upload your activity to a developer server. Recent download state is stored locally on your device. Settings use Chrome sync storage when your browser profile has Chrome Sync enabled.

Please use the extension only with media you own, created, or have permission to save. It does not bypass paywalls, login restrictions, digital rights management, or site access controls.
