Required to scan the visible text on the page you are viewing. 
The extension reads text only - it never modifies, submits, or 
deletes any content.

activeTab
Limits the extension to operate only on the specific tab you are 
currently viewing. It cannot access other tabs.

scripting
Used once as a fallback to activate the scanner on tabs that were 
already open before the extension was installed. Only the bundled 
content script is injected — no remote or external code ever runs.
