About

icd10free Medical Code Companion helps medical coders, billers, and healthcare operations teams look up medical codes without leaving the page they are working on.

The extension adds a Chrome side panel for fast ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS search. You can search codes, view billable status, see Medicare payment data where available, and save frequently used codes into local bookmark folders.

It also detects ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes on webpages by default. When a code appears on a page, the extension can highlight it and show a hover tooltip with code details. Detection can be turned off anytime in settings.

Key features:
- Search ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS, and condition-related coding references
- Detect medical codes on webpages
- Hover detected codes for quick details
- Bookmark useful codes into folders
- Copy codes quickly
- View recently searched codes
- Use a side panel beside EHRs, payer portals, CMS pages, medical references, and coding workflows
- No account required
- Free to use

Privacy and data handling:
Code detection scans visible page text locally in the browser. Full page contents are not sent to icd10free. Search queries and hovered or looked-up codes are sent to the icd10free API only to return code details. Bookmarks, folders, history, and settings are stored locally in Chrome.

This extension is not intended to receive or store patient-identifying PHI. Users should not enter patient-identifying information into searches or notes.
