About
AssessAI Integrity Monitor is the companion browser extension for tests taken on AssessAI (https://assessai.app). Your instructor decides whether the extension is required for a given test. When it is required, the extension records browsing activity in your browser windows for the duration of that test only — start and stop are triggered by the test page in your browser, not by the extension. No activity is recorded before the test starts or after you submit. WHAT IT DOES • Records the URL, page title, and time spent for every tab you visit during an active test • Flags visits to known AI tools and search engines so the instructor sees them on the activity timeline • Records when you switch focus away from the test tab and how long you were away • Captures the list of other browser extensions installed at test start WHAT IT DOES NOT DO • Does not record passwords, form input on other sites, or any content from pages you visit (URLs and page titles only) • Does not record any activity outside an active AssessAI test session • Does not transmit data to anyone other than your instructor's AssessAI account • Does not enable, disable, or inspect the contents of any other extension DATA HANDLING The activity log (URLs + page titles + timestamps) for the active test session is sent to the AssessAI web application when you submit the test. The same data appears in the instructor's grade view as a "Browser activity" timeline. Full details, including third-party processors (e.g. Google Gemini for instructor-triggered review reports) are in the privacy policy. Privacy policy: https://assessai.app/privacy SINGLE PURPOSE This extension exists for one purpose: monitoring browser activity during academic-integrity-protected AssessAI tests. It does not run on any other website and provides no functionality outside that scope.
