Changelog
- May 7, 2026description
VLauncher is a solution designed to enable the secure and seamless launching of virtualized applications and desktops on managed Chrome OS devices in the healthcare sector. The system includes several key components: a Chrome extension, a web-based admin panel, and backend components such as a web API and database. It works by registering Chrome OS devices, assigning them virtual resources, and facilitating the launch of virtualized desktops and applications through the V-Launcher Admin Panel.
VLauncher is a chrome extension that runs in the background on managed ChromeOS devices. It automates secure launching of assigned virtual applications and desktops via Citrix or Omnissa. VLauncher also support launching of virtualized desktops under Managed Guest Sessions (MGS) in ChromeOS and kiosk devices. End users do not interact with a standalone extension interface. VLauncher operates in the background and displays notifications for important events such as device registration, resource launch status, configuration updates, or errors that require administrator support. Resource assignment and configuration are managed by administrators through VLauncher Admin Studio, which is hosted separately in the organization’s Windows Server environment.
