AuthGuard is a fast, secure, and completely offline two-factor authentication 
(2FA) extension for Chrome. Generate TOTP codes instantly from any 
authenticator-compatible account — no internet connection required.

Everything stays on your device. Your secret keys are stored locally using 
Chrome's sandboxed storage API and are never transmitted anywhere. There are 
no servers, no cloud sync, no external APIs.

Saved Accounts
Add your authenticator accounts once and access them anytime. Each account 
displays a live 6-digit TOTP code that refreshes automatically every 30 
seconds. A visual countdown ring shows how many seconds remain before the 
next code appears, color-coded from green to orange to red.

Quick Code Mode
Don't want to save anything? Paste your Base32 secret key into Quick Code 
mode and your one-time code appears instantly. Nothing is stored — when you 
close the popup, everything is gone.

Save from Quick Code
Generated a quick code and want to keep the account? Hit "Save Account" 
directly from the Quick Code tab.

Custom Account Colors
Assign one of 8 color labels to each account for quick visual identification.

One-Click Copy
Click any account card to instantly copy the current code to your clipboard.

storage — Saves your account names, secret keys, and preferences locally 
on your device only.

clipboardWrite — Copies generated codes to your clipboard when you click 
the copy button. The extension never reads your clipboard.

✅ STANDARD COMPATIBILITY

AuthGuard works with any service that supports the TOTP standard (RFC 6238). 
If your service works with any standard authenticator app, it works with 
AuthGuard.

🔬 HOW IT WORKS

TOTP (Time-based One-Time Password) is an open standard used worldwide for 
two-factor authentication. A 6-digit code is derived from your secret key 
and the current time using the browser's built-in Web Crypto API. No internet 
connection is needed at any point.

📖 HOW TO USE

1. Click the AuthGuard icon in your Chrome toolbar
2. Add an account: click +, enter a name and your Base32 secret key, choose 
   a color, and save
3. Or use Quick Code: go to the Quick Code tab, paste your secret key, get 
   your code instantly
4. Click any account card or the copy button to copy the code

❓ WHERE DO I FIND MY SECRET KEY?

When enabling two-factor authentication on a website, you are shown a QR 
code and a text secret key (labeled "Secret Key" or "Manual Entry Key"). 
This Base32 text key is what you enter into AuthGuard. Example format: 
JBSWY3DPEHPK3PXP

AuthGuard is free, offline, and built with privacy as the top priority. 
No data collection. No tracking. No servers. Just secure, instant 2FA 
codes whenever you need them.

Tip: Always keep your secret keys backed up in a safe place. If you lose 
access to your authenticator without backup codes, you may be locked out 
of your accounts.
