About
Open any Markdown file locally and see it beautifully rendered — no server, no conversion, no extra tools. HOW IT WORKS Drag a .md file into Chrome (or press Ctrl+O), and MD Viewer automatically parses and renders it as clean HTML. A sticky toolbar lets you toggle between rendered and raw views at any time. A right-click context menu entry gives you the same toggle without reaching for the toolbar. FEATURES • Renders headers, bold, italic, strikethrough, inline code • Fenced code blocks with language class hints • Tables, ordered & unordered lists, blockquotes • Images and links • Horizontal rules • GitHub-style light theme • Automatic dark mode (respects your OS preference) • Print-friendly — toolbar hides automatically when printing • Sticky toolbar shows the filename for quick reference • Toggle raw ↔ rendered view via toolbar button or right-click menu PRIVACY MD Viewer operates entirely offline. It reads only local file:// URLs that match *.md. No data is collected, transmitted, or stored. There are no external network requests. PERMISSIONS • "Read and change your data on file:// URLs" — required to inject the renderer into local .md files • Context Menus — required to add the right-click toggle option GETTING STARTED After installing, open Chrome settings → Extensions → MD Viewer → Details, and enable "Allow access to file URLs". Then open any .md file in Chrome and it renders instantly.
