  누가 소리를 내었는가?는 지금 소리를 내고 있는 Chrome 탭을 빠르게 찾아주는 확장 프로그램입니다.
  
  Chrome은 소리가 나는 탭에 스피커 표시를 보여줍니다. 그래서 탭을 몇 개만 열어두었을 때는 어디서 소리가 나는지 비교적 쉽게 찾을 수 있습니다. 문제는 탭이 많아졌을 때입니다.
  
  저처럼 Chrome 탭을 많게는 수십 개씩 열어두고 일하는 사람에게는 작은 스피커 표시 하나를 눈으로 찾는 일도 생각보다 번거롭습니다. 여러 창에 탭이 흩어져 있거나, 외부 모니터까지 연결해서 작업하고 있거나, 비슷한 사이트 탭이 여러 개 열려 있으면 더 그렇습니다. 분명 어딘가에서 소리가 나고 있는데, 어느 창의 어느 탭인지 찾기 위해 탭 바를 하나씩 훑게 됩니다.
  
  특히 갑자기 소리가 나기 시작했을 때는 이 불편함이 더 크게 느껴집니다. 회의 중이거나, 조용한 사무실이나 카페에 있거나, 누군가와 대화 중일 때 갑자기 브라우저에서 소리가 나오면 일단 빨리 꺼야 합니다. 그런데 그 순간에 해야 하는 일이 “소리를 끄는 것”이 아니라 “어디서 소리가 나는지 찾는 것”이 되어버립니다.
  
  특히 MacBook을 외부 모니터에 연결해 사용하다가 노트북을 닫았을 때, 분명 음소거해두었다고 생각했는데 갑자기 소리가 재생되는 상황을 종종 겪었습니다. MacBook 사용자라면 한 번쯤 겪어봤을 법한, 조용히 넘어가 주지 않는 그런 순간입니다. 갑자기 소리가 나면 당황해서 바로 끄고 싶은데, 정작 어떤 탭에서 소리가 나는지 찾는 데 시간이 걸립니다.
  
  이 확장 프로그램은 그런 순간을 위해 만들었습니다.
  
  툴바의 “누가 소리를 내었는가?” 아이콘을 누르면 현재 소리를 내고 있는 탭만 모아서 보여줍니다. 목록에서 어떤 탭이 소리를 내고 있는지 바로 확인할 수 있고, 해당 탭으로 즉시 이동할 수 있습니다. 필요하면 그 자리에서 개별 탭을 음소거하거나 닫을 수도 있습니다.

  Who made that sound? is a Chrome extension that helps you quickly find the tab
  currently playing audio.
  
  Chrome shows a speaker icon on tabs that are making sound. When you only have a few
  tabs open, that is usually enough to find the source pretty easily. The problem
  starts when you have a lot of tabs.
  
  For people like me who often work with dozens of Chrome tabs open, even finding one
  tiny speaker icon can become surprisingly annoying. It gets worse when tabs are
  spread across multiple windows, when you are using an external monitor, or when you
  have several similar pages open at the same time. You can clearly hear something
  playing somewhere, but you end up scanning tab bars one by one just to find which
  window and which tab it is coming from.
  
  I also often ran into this situation when using a MacBook connected to an external
  monitor. After closing the laptop, even if I had paused the audio, it would sometimes
  suddenly start playing again.
  
  I made this extension for exactly those moments.
  
  Click the “Who made that sound?” icon in the toolbar, and it shows only the tabs that
  are currently making sound. You can instantly see which tab is playing audio, jump to
  that tab, and, if needed, mute or close it right from the popup.
  
  Stop hunting for where the sound is coming from. Find it and turn it off right away.
