DearHiring.team Extension helps you save job postings to your DearHiring.team account in one click, directly from supported job pages.

It’s built for people who are tired of losing track of applications, tabs, screenshots, and “I’ll remember this later” notes (you won’t).

What it does
	•	Detects when you are viewing a supported job posting page (for example on LinkedIn)
	•	Shows a contextual popup with the right action:
	•	Sign in (if you are not authenticated)
	•	“No job detected” (if the current page is not a supported job posting)
	•	“Save job” (if a job is detected and not yet saved)
	•	Job status view (if the job was already saved, showing its current status in DearHiring.team)
	•	Saves the job posting to your DearHiring.team account when you explicitly click Save

Typical workflow
	1.	Open a job posting in your browser.
	2.	Click the DearHiring.team extension icon.
	3.	If the page is supported, you’ll see job details and a Save action.
	4.	Click Save to store the job in your DearHiring.team tracker.
	5.	Next time you open the same job, the popup shows its saved status instead of asking you to save again.

Privacy and data handling (read this, it’s short)

This extension is designed to be privacy-friendly and intentionally minimal.
	•	We do not track your browsing history.
	•	We do not read page contents “in the background”.
	•	The extension uses the current tab URL to detect whether the page is a supported job posting.
	•	The job URL is sent to DearHiring.team only when you explicitly click “Save”.
	•	Stored data is limited to what’s required to track the job you chose to save (for example: job URL, title/company when available, and your application status inside DearHiring.team).
	•	No third-party analytics SDKs are embedded in the extension.

Permissions explained (because you deserve transparency)
	•	activeTab: lets the extension access the currently active tab when you interact with it (to detect the page and enable “Save”).
	•	tabs: used to query the active tab information required for job detection (primarily the URL).
	•	storage: stores minimal local state required for a smooth popup experience (for example cached login/session state).

Supported pages

The extension works on specific job posting pages (e.g., LinkedIn job postings). Support for additional job boards may be added over time.

Notes
	•	DearHiring.team account is required to save and track jobs.
	•	The extension only performs actions when you interact with it via the popup.
